Boggart Hill shops

This could well be the location for the summer ELFM broadcast. After the Roundhay broadcast at the beginning of July we are looking at a two-week broadcast from the 21st July based out of Seacroft (and hopefully linking in with the EASEL community engagement process). It just so happens that discussions have been going on between East North East Homes, the Council and a few local tenants groups (including Boggart Hill Action Group) about bringing the old rent office on the right hand edge of this row of shops on Ramshead Hill back into use as a community facility.

And what better way to launch such a facility than to have ELFM come and do a radio broadcast. More than that, there is even talk about us using some of the upstairs space as a permanent base – but that needs a lot more negotiation. Good news is there’s an excellent bus service from town (no’s 50, 49 and 58) stops right outside, shop next door - all that kind of thing.

And of course it’s on a hill – which means good coverage for our FM signal across East Leeds and beyond.

We’re more than interested – and thanks to all the Councillors, ENEH staff, Area Management staff and the local tenants groups who are all trying to find a way to make it work. More later…
