Breast Buddies

As a mum of three who breast fed – and soon to be a grandma – I was interested to find out more about an organisation based in Leeds that promotes breast feeding.

The UK doesn’t appear to have a very high rate of breast feeding among new mums, but everyone I spoke to was in favour of it. So why is ith that only 35% of new babies are breast fed?

  2. What a great idea! Lovely interview with the various people involved in the project. Here’s hoping that more women breastfeed in Leeds as a result of the Breastfeeding Belles campaign.

  3. I’m just shocked at how few women breastfeed these days - is it our sensibilities, the lack of support from within the health service, or the massive profits that Nestle or whoever makes?

There were we campaigning against the companies pushing formula milk in third world countries … looks like we’ve forgotten our own backyard.
