Seacroft Gala Blog

Okay then, where do I start? Bit of a strange one this. The Caravan of Love turned up on Seacroft Village Green as arranged, and once again the rain came with it (is it cursed?) By lunchtime it became obvious that things were probably not going to improve and the organisers of the Gala cancelled it. Time for a rethink…

After a bit of a discussion we decided to go back to our new home at Boggart Hill. Once we’d got the caravan packed up and off the, by now, very muddy grass the sun was shining as we drove the short distance back to “base”.

Once back we set up the studio in one of the upstairs rooms and we were off, slightly later than originally planned. Emma & Helen kicked things off and were followed by Julija, Anna, Valerie and Kate. They had only turned up at the Gala to help us out and suddenly found themselves on the air, with only about an hours preparation time. I have to say that they did an amazing job and their best bits will be on the site soon.

So the day didn’t turn out quite as we’d planned, but overall I think it was extremely successful - plus it gave us a head start in setting up for tomorrows Unity broadcast.

The Caravan of LoveĀ visits the Gipton Gala on July 12th, so why not bring your wellies andĀ umbrella and join us?

  2. It’s not cursed, it can’t be, can it?

  3. I’m almost glad I was helping someone move (at short notice I might add) ALMOST, but not entirely - as a roll around in the mud with a caravan of love sounds too much fun to miss!
