Next Generation at Easter

ELFM’s brand new Next Generation programme for young musicians kicked off in some style with our April 11th broadcast. Nearly three hours of excellent radio.
Presented in partnership with Leeds Met University, the team of young musicians from across East Leeds worked alongside two top Leeds performers: Cleve Freckleton (who plays as Rev Chunky) and Rich Huxley from Hope and Social. Together they created new material, which they performed, and which will form the basis for a special Next Generation contribution towards the ELFM 24 hour musicathon coming up on May 1st/2nd.
The Next Generation is an ELFM initiative that aims to develop creative ways to encourage young musicians and to offer opportunities for them to develop their skills. We are planning a series of Next Generation projects through the year including live performance opportunities on air, at gigs and festivals.
