ELFM website

A wonderful year

The new ELFM website went live just about a year ago. We thought you might want to know a few facts and figures from our first year…

The visits are currently going up – 1507 visits this month – that’s 39% more visits than in the previous month.

Adds up to a total of 16,671 visits in the year. 93% of our visitors are from the UK – half of them from Leeds but we have had visitors from 74 different countries

We get visitors from 3 sources – split about equally – people who know coming direct to the site; others from search engines and we are getting almost a third of our traffic from direct referrals from other sites too – including our myspace (well done Andy) but also east north east homes; hilary benn’s website, moonraking, brigshaw school, heads together, common agency, Odi’ site, Temple Moor Radio (thanks Elliott), loads from what must be a kurdish site jebar.info … and 545 visits in the last year direct from leeds music forum – well done Andy and Ed.

So it is definitely worth asking other websites to link in to us – does us good for our google rankings too I believe.

(Can anyone tell I’ve been spending too much time on google analytics?)

Anyway – after a year we are in a very strong position and just about to do a whole new set of re-developments to the website. Watch this space!

Media player help

Just click on the triangle and the audio will start playing – whatever computer and set-up you are using.

Where you see a podcast in any of the posts on the website, you can just click on the triangle to listen; or you can choose to play in a separate pop-up window (which means you can navigate away from the page and carry on listening); or you can download the file to play whenever you want on your computer or mp3 player.
