Listen again to Talking Point, the middle course of our Remembrance Day Sunday Joint, on the meaty theme of Justice.
First up we hear definitions of Justice by Year 4 children at Whinmoor St.Paul’s Primary (approx 5 mins in), followed by the first poem from Antony Dunn, our Poet of The Day.
George Mudie (10 mins) and his shock revelation regarding Ken Clark is followed by local Girl Guides and Year 8s from John Smeaton High School talking about what feels unfair in the world (25 mins in) with Steve Bolton’s regular poetry slot (35 mins).
We hear courtroom dramas from Whinmoor St.Paul’s and Corpus Christi students (45 mins).
The last 30 minutes consist of fascinating coverage from recent Restorative Practices conference in Hull plus a revealing interview with new Head of Children’s Services in Leeds, Nigel Richardson. Finally the show ends with an eviscerating poem from Antony Dunn about Palestine.
How do we challenge unfairness? How do we redress wrongs? It’s all in here!
