100 Buskers

Thanks to everyone who took part in the 100 Buskers event on Briggate on Saturday 27th October…a really brilliant event…this is what the Yorkshire Evening Post had to say (click on the image for a bigger version)…LONG LIVE 100 BUSKERS!
East Leeds FM have been awarded a Trinity Leeds Artist Commission. We are planning a Flash Busk on Saturday 27th October working with Ric Neil from The Housekeeping Society. Here’s the plan so far…100 musicians will arrive on Briggate at 1pm spaced out along the whole length of the pedestrian street (about one musician every 3 metres). Only acoustic instruments are allowed – no electricity involved (not even cheeky battery-operated amplifiers!). The performance will last about one hour…
If you want to take part then come along to the catch up rehearsal from 11.30am on Saturday 27th Oct at Holy Trinity Church on Boar Lane.

Great article, thanks for posting it – but one slight inaccuracy. It says performers were 15 – 60, but I was 61 and a half! Sure I wasn’t the oldest either. It was indeed great fun.
