The caravan of love is back for the summer of 2009 – have a listen to some of the best bits from the caravan in 2008. Our very own brand of outside broadcast unit will be on tour throughout June and July and finishing up at the Moor Music Festival at the beginning of August. We will be doing residencies in schools, turning up at galas and festivals and visiting streets, neighbourhoods and villages…

We’ve had a brilliant June:
Started off working with the IMPaCT team in Chapeltown; beginning our transition project up at the David Young Community Academy; staff training for St Teresas up at Temple Newsam House; Shed Radio!; a great Everybody Loves Fabulous Music broadcast with live sets from Northern Ceol, South View Juniors and Kath Edmonds; a residency and broadcast at Richmond Hill Primary School; training for students from Corpus Christi (look out for the Jane Tomlinson run podcast); a special Refugee Week broadcast and a truly stupendous residency and broadcast with Hillcrest Primary School (with a big focus on dads); and finishing off at the excellent Black Children’s Achievement Ceremony at the Civic Hall.
And on into a brilliant July:
Started with a wonderful broadcast up at Temple Newsam/Halton Primary School - Tempo Newsam; the Caravan of Love was out at both the Gipton and Seacroft galas (busy times – have a look at the video below);  we started work with students at the David Young Community Academy on our Sonic Arts commission for Leeds City Museum; and then had a great time recording events at the Garforth Arts Festival and doing a special Best of the Fest broadcast. Add in ‘Everybody Loves French Music‘ and two great live sessions from Silverlode and Milk White White Teeth and you’ve got a FAB broadcast. Then a residency with the COPS group Connect Older People Strategists); and some work documenting St Theresa’s trip to Fabulous Whitby

and we’re on the home stretch.

Coming next:
21 July: Kippax: Caravan of Love broadcast
23-4th July: Training for the 3-day broadcast at Boggart Hill
25 July: Opera in the Park: backstage interviews etc
26 July:Party in the Park: backstage interviews etc

plenty more to come but that should give you a flavour …
