Peace, Love & Understanding

How do we make peace? Where do we find peace of mind? In the second of our monthly themed broadcasts, ELFM looks at `PEACE, LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING’, a groaning table of fascinating fare: live readings from local poets, music, reports from the Leeds Summat and Peace Poetry Competition, plus interviews with Ian McMillan and children from Austhorpe Primary School.

Have a listen to Part 1 of the programme – including interviews with Ian McMillan, the Balkans Peace Park Project and peace campaigner Annie Tunnicliffe; reports from a special trip to the Dales National Park and the Leeds Peace Poetry competition; live poetry from Helen Burke, Andrew McMillan and Siobhan McMahon (accompanied by Sabrina Piggott); and contributions from Jess Drew, Charlotte Wetton, Pauline Kirk and pupils from Rawthorpe Junior School.

  3. What a luscious programme – a very rare chance to really mull over some of the issues. So thanks to ELFM for the format and thanks to “whispering bob” Spafford for the excellent presentation.
