For the winter 2005 broadcast, ELFM broadcast a series of five one-hour programmes entitled Eastern Promise. They were looking at bold attempts to regenerate whole swathes of East and South East Leeds under the EASEL initiative.

EASEL is a 15-year programme of regeneration for East and South East Leeds; a partnership between the Council, Housing ALMOs and the private sector.

Eastern Promise set out to find out more; what were the plans and how did local people view them.
