ELFM depends on volunteers to run all aspects of its broadcasting programme. We have regular meetings and training sessions for volunteers as well as the "Next Generation" programme: an extended training course for young people.
Over 7000 people aged between 3 and 87 years old have been involved since we started in 2003.

East Leeds FM was created back in 2003 as a pilot project run by Heads Together Productions with students from John Smeaton High School. It has grown and developed since then and over 7000 people have been involved in broadcasting over that time – ranging in age from three to 87!
